Kallas told Pashinyan about the EU's readiness to help strengthen Armenia's resilience

YEREVAN, June 30. /ARKA/. High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Kaja Kallas highly appreciated the government's commitment to democratic reforms at a meeting with Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, the government's press service reported.
She called them vital not only within the country, but also as a basis for external partnership and stressed that these values must be protected, especially in the face of hybrid threats, disinformation and attempts to interfere in the country's internal affairs.
Kallas said that the EU is ready to support Armenia, helping to strengthen the country's resilience.
The head of the EU's European diplomacy noted that Armenia and the European Union have never been as close to each other as they are now. According to her, the EU is ready to deepen partnership in all areas.
Kallas attached importance to the Armenia-EU-US trilateral statement signed in Brussels on 5 April 2024 as an important milestone in strengthening strategic cooperation between Armenia and its European and Western partners. According to her, it served as a basis for a new level of political dialogue.
Pashinyan thanked the EU for its consistent support to Armenia and emphasized the commitment of the Armenian government to strengthening democracy and peace.
During the meeting, issues related to the agenda of Armenia-EU relations, strengthening democratic institutions, and opportunities for deepening cooperation in the field of rule of law and governance reforms were discussed.
An exchange of views took place on the process of visa liberalization. The parties emphasized that significant progress has been recorded in this direction recently.
The interlocutors touched upon the regional situation and the peace process. The EU High Representative noted that Brussels is pleased to note the positive progress recorded during the Armenia-Azerbaijan bilateral talks, which can serve as a basis for establishing stability and peace in the region.
