Leader of Armenian opposition “Heritage” party Raffi Hovhannisyan announced his decision to run for president in the upcoming elections of February 18, 2013, Novosti-Armenia Agency reported.

YEREVAN, December 24. /ARKA/. Leader of Armenian opposition “Heritage” party Raffi Hovhannisyan announced his decision to run for president in the upcoming elections of February 18, 2013, Novosti-Armenia Agency reported.
The party congress has unanimously supported the nomination of Hovhannisyan.
“Heritage” is a national liberal party and was founded in 2002 by the first Armenian deputy minister of foreign affairs. The party holds five seats in the current parliament.
Armenian presidential elections are scheduled for February 18, 2013. Presidential nominations will start on December 25 and will end on January 4. Nominees will be registered between January 4 and January 14. The election campaign is to start from January 21 and to continue till February 16, 24:00.
The current president of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan is the favorite. The Republican Party of Armenia nominated Sargsyan at its congress on December 15. Sargsyan’s campaign slogan will be “Towards secure Armenia”. –0--
