More than 80% of Armenian citizens have negative attitude towards Pashinyan's words about recognition of Nagorno-Karabakh as part of Azerbaijan

YEREVAN, June 9. /ARKA/. More than 80% of respondents of a public opinion poll conducted by the Armenian office of GALLUP International Association disapprove of Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan’s statement that Armenia recognizes Nagorno-Karabakh as part of Azerbaijan.
The findings of the poll show that 63.4% of the respondents have a clear negative assessment of the Prime Minister's statement, 18.5% have rather negative assessment, while 5.4% partially approve of this statement and 3.8% fully support it.
Some 8.9% of the respondents could not answer this question. At the same time, more than 85% of the citizens consider the existence of the Armenians of Nagorno-Karabakh as a national minority in Azerbaijan impossible: 77.7% consider it absolutely impossible, 8.7% consider it rather impossible, 5.6% consider it rather possible, 2.8% consider it possible and 5.1% found it difficult to answer the question.
The telephone poll was conducted on May 27-31. It involved 1,100 respondents.
On 22 May, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said at a press conference in Yerevan that he was ready to recognize Nagorno-Karabakh as part of Azerbaijan if the rights and security of its ethnic Armenian population were guaranteed.-0-
