Nagorno-Karabakh Republic’s government approved a new activity program today, the government’s press office reports.
STEPANAKERT, October 9. /ARKA/. Nagorno-Karabakh Republic’s government approved a new activity program today, the government’s press office reports.
Levon Grigoryan, head of the government’s staff and coordinator of the group set up for working out the program, speaking at today’s Cabinet meeting, said that the aim of the 2012-2017 program is to ensure internal and external security of the country, to implement economic, social and cultural projects.
“The new program will ensure consistent development of past years’ achievements, implementation of realistic political, economic, social and administrative reforms, which will improve our citizens’ living conditions,” he said.
Grigoryan said that the program is also focused on ensuring stable economic growth, developing the institutions which are in charge of building national statehood and defensive capacity.
Nagorno-Karabakh Republic will also keep seeking international recognition and peaceful settlement of Karabakh-Azerbaijan conflict.
A 9-to-11-percent annual GDP growth and a 10-to-15-percent growth in investments are projected in this program.
Exports are planned to grow faster than imports. It is also planned to create 5,000 new jobs, to double the size of the minimal salary, to speed up average annual growth of gross agricultural product by 12 to 15% and to ensure higher than a threefold growth of electric energy output.
“Special attention will be paid to development of tourism, provision of social guarantees, improvement of demographic situation, collection of revenues as well as quick and effective solutions to problems,” Grigoryan said.
The program will be sent to the Nagorno-Karabakh Parliament for discussion and approval. -0---
