Nalbandyan confirms Armenia wants to continue cooperation with EU in all directions

Armenia’s foreign minister Edward Nalbandyan confirmed Armenia’s willingness to continue its cooperation with the EU in all directions at his meeting with the EU commissionaire for enlargement and European policy Stefan Fule Thursday, the press office of Armenian foreign ministry reported.

YEREVAN, September 13. /ARKA/. Armenia’s foreign minister Edward Nalbandyan confirmed Armenia’s willingness to continue its cooperation with the EU in all directions at his meeting with the EU commissionaire for enlargement and European policy Stefan Fule Thursday, the press office of Armenian foreign ministry reported.
The sides continued the negotiations that started on September 5 in Brussels and stressed the importance of the forthcoming non-official meeting of Eastern partnership countries’ ministers of foreign affairs and education in Yerevan, ahead of the summit in Vilnius.
After the negotiations of Armenian and Russian presidents Serzh Sargsyan and Vladimir Putin on September 3, a statement was made about Armenia’s intention to join the Russia-initiated customs union. Before, Armenia was expected to sign an association agreement with the EU. EU officials claim the two formats are incompatible.–0--
