YEREVAN, September 10. /ARKA/. Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi discussed with the new Iranian Consul General in Kapan, Davud Yayci, the further development of relations with Armenia, including in the economic and consular spheres.

Yayci met with the Iranian Foreign Minister before departing for his post.

Araghchi wished the new Consul General success and emphasized the need to further deepen bilateral ties in all areas of mutual interest, particularly in the economic and consular spheres.

The Iranian Foreign Minister also noted the importance of relations with Armenia within the framework of the good-neighborliness policy.

The Iranian Consulate General in Kapan was established almost four years ago. The official opening ceremony in October 2022 was attended by the foreign ministers of Armenia and Iran, Ararat Mirzoyan and Hossein Amir Abdollahian. Iran's first consul general in Kapan was Morteza Abedin Varamin.
