Vardan Harutyunyan, the newly appointed head of Armenia’s State Revenue Committee, is planning to change the customs service’s work style, Zhoghovurd reports referring to information about preparation for withdrawing so-called customs packages relating to various imports.

Vardan Harutyunyan, the newly appointed head of Armenia’s State Revenue Committee, is planning to change the customs service’s work style, Zhoghovurd reports referring to information about preparation for withdrawing so-called customs packages relating to various imports.
According to the newspaper, Harutyunyan also intends to come up with a proposal, according to which customs broker services will be provided by the government, not private companies, as it is going on now. Certain legislative changes are needed for that.
A spokesman of the State Revenue Committee told the newspaper that commodity export and import procedures are planned to be simplified soon.
The authors of the publication say this initiative is aimed at creating favorable conditions and convenient procedure for legal entities and individuals who cross the border and at lessening power abuse and corruption. --0----
