YEREVAN, March 30. /ARKA/. During a meeting with the Armenian community of Austria after the first official meeting with Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev in Vienna on March 29, Armenian Prime Nikol Pashinyan said he could not say that a revolution had occurred in the negotiation process.

He said his overall assessment of the meeting with Aliyev was positive. ‘But I can’t say that there was a breakthrough in the negotiation process, a revolution or some key event occurred. It is very important that a process has begun that gives us the opportunity to talk about our agenda, views and the process of which I spoke in Stepanakert," said the prime minister. Pashinyan said he hopes that Aliyev’s assessment of the meeting is also positive.

“I would like to draw attention to one subtlety: if I evaluate the meeting positively, it does not mean that someone won or lost during this meeting or negotiations. It is important to emphasize,” he said.

At the same time, Pashinyan noted the importance of understanding by each of the parties that they are dealing with a difficult problem.

On March 12, during a joint meeting of the Security Councils of Armenia and Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh) in Stepanakert, Pashinyan said that the Karabakh negotiation process should be based on clear-cut wordings that do not allow for different interpretations. He also stated that the participation of Artsakh in the negotiation process is not a whim or a precondition, but attests to the key significance of its participation in the Karabakh peace process. -0-
