Earlier, Armenia stated that about 4,000 Syrian militants are fighting on the side of Azerbaijan in Artsakh. Russia’s foreign ministry called for measures to immediately withdraw foreign mercenaries and terrorists from the region of the Karabakh conflict.
"There have already been corresponding reactions from the diplomatic missions of the advanced countries - these are, of course, the results of our brilliant diplomatic and information work," he said.
A defense ministry spokesman said the evidence was provided and is being provided.
"No one has any doubts, except for the direct "users" themselves, who tried and will try to hide it, but in vain," Hovhannisyan said.
Regarding the number of militants, he noted that the special services are working in this direction, but he cannot publicly say how many thousands of people have been delivered, involved or killed.
"It is a matter of time. We will quickly clarify this," Hovhannisyan said.
Situation in Artsakh
On September 27, at 07:10, Azerbaijani troops launched an offensive along the entire length of the contact line in Artsakh, but were thrown back in several directions. Intense fighting continues in the south, southeast and north of the front line. Turkey joined the aggression. Residential areas are being shelled as well.
The Azerbaijani side suffered losses in manpower (more than 1,200 people killed and around 2,500 wounded) and equipment, in particular, 90 UAVs, 10 helicopters, 165 tanks and other armored vehicles, 2 Smerch MLRS and 2 aircrafts. According to the data of the defense ministry of Armenia and Artsakh, more than 100 Armenian servicemen were killed and hundreds wounded on the Armenian side.
The Armenian side informed the international community, including the OSCE Minsk Group co-chairs, about the aggression by Azerbaijan against Artsakh, also about the shelling of peaceful settlements.
