YEREVAN, November 20. /ARKA/. The Russian natural gas price for Armenia will be left unchanged at least until spring 2020, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said Tuesday in Yerevan at his meeting with Russian journalists, according to TASS. “The gas price will not rise until spring,” he is quoted by the Russian media source.
Pashinyan added that he had discussed the matter with Russian President Vladimir Putin and they had been unanimous in thinking that the price should not strike at Armenia’s economy.
On January 1, 2019, Russia’s Gazprom increased the gas price for Armenia from $150 to $165 per 1,000 cubic meters, but the gas price for consumers inside the country remained unchanged at the account of Gazprom Armenia, thanks to optimization of the company’s management.
Gazprom Armenia CJSC, a subsidiary of Russia’s Gazprom Holding, supplies Russian natural gas to Armenia and distributes it inside the country. The company is also in charge of maintenance of gas-supplying facilities. -0---
