Orinats Yerkir political party issued today a statement proposing to start a wide public dialogue in Armenia and to involve concerned political parties, nongovernmental organizations and civil initiatives in it.
YEREVAN, January 26. /ARKA/. Orinats Yerkir political party issued today a statement proposing to start a wide public dialogue in Armenia and to involve concerned political parties, nongovernmental organizations and civil initiatives in it.
In its statement, the Orinats Yerkir urges all political parties to stage their protests with respect toward the law and the Constitution and to display restraint to maintain political stability inside Armenia and to shield the country from outside threats.
The board of the party proposes to set up a group of representatives of the National Assembly’s factions for considering post-election things in the country and finding ways out of the situation and initiating legislative reforms, if necessary.
The Orinats Yerkir also finds it necessary to implement substantial reforms in Armenia and pledges its support for the reformation.
The party was founded in 1997 by Arthur Baghdasaryan, who is the secretary of Armenia’s National Security Council now.
Then party has three ministers and six members in the National Assembly.
The Orinats Yerkir backed Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan in the recent presidential elections in Armenia.
Sargsyan was reelected by 58.64% of votes. The second vote-getter was Raffi Hovannisian, leader of Heritage party, who disputes the results of the poll, is staging rallies in Armenia’s provinces. In the last Friday, Hovannisian announced the start of the Revolution of Greetings. -0-
