YEREVAN, March 20. /ARKA/. Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan stated that he has instructed the Armenian Defense Ministry "not to commit any violations of the ceasefire."

"The draft peace treaty between Armenia and Azerbaijan has been agreed upon and is awaiting signing. I have given clear instructions to the Armenian Defense Ministry not to violate the ceasefire. Armenia is moving toward peace, not war," he wrote on his social platform.

Earlier, Pashinyan noted that he was ready to sign the draft peace treaty.

From March 16-19, the Armenian Defense Ministry denied the Azerbaijani side's claims of shooting on the border nine times. The Armenian Defense Ministry emphasized each time that "the Republic of Azerbaijan has not provided the Republic of Armenia with any factual data or evidence regarding the violation of the ceasefire by the units of the Armenian Armed Forces."

On the Peace Process Between Armenia and Azerbaijan

On March 13, the Armenian Ministry of Foreign Affairs confirmed that the draft Treaty "On the Establishment of Peace and Interstate Relations between the Republic of Armenia and the Republic of Azerbaijan" had been agreed upon and that negotiations for its approval were complete. The Ministry stated that the document is ready for signing and that Yerevan is prepared to begin consultations with Baku on the timing and location of its signing.

Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan mentioned that the current version of the draft peace treaty with Azerbaijan represents a mutually acceptable compromise for Armenia. He noted that two issues, which the parties had struggled to reach an agreement on for some time, were resolved with a compromise. These issues include the non-deployment of third-country forces along the entire length of the Armenia-Azerbaijan border, and the mutual withdrawal of claims filed against each other in international courts, as well as refraining from taking any actions against each other. The President of Azerbaijan had previously mentioned these two disagreements.
