The recognition of the Armenian Genocide is a matter of global security rather than an issue of the Armenian-Turkish relations, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said yesterday in an interview with Civilnet.

YEREVAN, April 24 /ARKA/. The recognition of the Armenian Genocide is a matter of global security rather than an issue of the Armenian-Turkish relations, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said yesterday in an interview with Civilnet.
“The recognition of the Armenian Genocide is an important step in the prevention of other genocides,” Pashinyan said.
In comments on the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, Pashinyan said a lasting settlement and peace are very important for Armenia and the region. Asked whether there is readiness for mutual concessions, Pashinyan said Armenia cannot be responsible for it alone.
He said this question should be simultaneously addressed to all three parties to the conflict, and all three parties should respond to it simultaneously.
‘I refuse to work in this mode when this question is addressed to the parties separately. And I say this to everyone – did you ask Baku this same question and did you get an answer?" he said.
In the context of the Vienna meeting with Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, Pashinyan said that it is important for him that they speak , discuss the problem directly, sincerely and without " traps. "
"This is a conversation that should be continued, and it will be very good if this happens. There are all conditions for this," he added.
The prime minister also said that the Karabakh issue cannot be resolved at the level of the leaders of Armenia, Azerbaijan and Karabakh, since it must be resolved by the peoples of these countries. Pashinyan stressed that any settlement option must be acceptable to all three peoples. -0-
