YEREVAN, March 6. /ARKA/. In an interview with Russian news agency TASS Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan spoke about the upcoming meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin.
“This year we are going to have several meetings, one on the sidelines of the Eurasian Economic Union summit. Besides, I hope that this year Putin will pay an official visit to Yerevan and I will pay a similar visit to Moscow,”said Pashinyan, noting that there are no exact dates yet.
Pashinyan said also that apart from meeting with Putin he will have a meeting with Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev on April 29 in Yerevan, the venue of a regular meeting of the Intergovernmental Council of the Eurasian Economic Union.
“You know that last year there was a non-violent, velvety, popular revolution in Armenia. It is very important that all segments of the Russian society understand its essence and its reasons correctly. Because, unfortunately, many experts in Russia still try to present what happened in Armenia as another so-called “color revolutions,” Pashinyan explained.
According to the prime minister, it is very important that Russian friends and colleagues understand that what happened in Armenia has no geopolitical context and not a single foreign force was involved in that process.
“This is a matter of national dignity and my personal dignity. Allegations that someone used the Armenian people for their geopolitical purposes is offensive to us. Armenia is an independent country, an independent nation with a high sense of dignity,” Pashinyan said.
“We are a reliable partner for all those whom we consider to be our reliable partner; there can be no doubt about that. And those who are not reliable, we must think whether we need to consider them as our partners? ” Pashinyan said. -0-
