Portuguese president ratifies CEPA between Armenia and European Union

YEREVAN, December 18. /ARKA/. On Friday, Portuguese President Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa ratified the Armenia-EU Comprehensive and Enhanced Partnership Agreement (CEPA).
Earlier, the Portuguese Assembly (legislative body) approved a resolution on this agreement, the Armenian Embassy in the Vatican reported on its Facebook page.
The Comprehensive and Enhanced Partnership Agreement between Armenia and the European Union was signed on November 24, 2017 and ratified by the Armenian Parliament on April 11, 2018. Armenia is the only member of the Russian-led Eurasian Economic Union to have signed such a document with the EU.
According to the Armenian Foreign Ministry, all 27 EU member states have completed the ratification process, but two countries - Italy and Portugal - have not yet officially notified the EU secretariat of the completion of the procedures. Although this is a formality, but all countries must notify Brussels, after which it officially recognizes the completion of the ratification process. --0--
