Putin arrives in Armenian Gyumri

Russian President Vladimir Putin has arrived in Armenian Gyumri., where he is to take part in the commissioning of the fifth unit of the Hrazdan thermal power plant via a videoconference; he will also visit the 102nd Russian military base in Gyumri, and then will travel to Yerevan for talks with his Armenian counterpart Serzh Sargsyan.

YEREVAN, December 2. / ARKA /. Russian President Vladimir Putin has arrived in Armenian Gyumri., where he is to take part in the commissioning of the fifth unit of the Hrazdan thermal power plant via a videoconference; he will also visit the 102nd Russian military base in Gyumri, and then will travel to Yerevan for talks with his Armenian counterpart Serzh Sargsyan.

The Russian president will also take part in the cancellation of a commemorative postage stamp devoted to the 2014 Winter Olympic Games in Sochi. Then he will visit the third Russian -Armenian interregional forum and will lay a wreath at the monument to the victims of the Spitak earthquake.

In the afternoon, Putin will go to Yerevan, where together with his Armenian counterpart he will visit the Tsitsernakaberd Memorial to remember the victims of the 1915 Armenian Genocide. After the talks the presidents will make a statement to the press.

According to the Kremlin press service, the presidents will discuss in Yerevan trade, economic, cultural and humanitarian issues. They will also exchange views on the process of Armenia’s accession to the Customs Union. The sides will sign several bilateral documents. -0-
