Robert Kocharyan and Family Face Asset Seizure: 22 Properties, Cash, Bonds Targeted by Authorities

Prosecutor General of Armenia Anna Vardapetyan has published a list of property belonging to the family of the second President of the Republic of Armenia Robert Kocharyan, which the department intends to confiscate in favor of the state.

YEREVAN, May 12. /ARKA/. Prosecutor General of Armenia Anna Vardapetyan has published a list of property belonging to the family of the second President of the Republic of Armenia Robert Kocharyan, which the department intends to confiscate in favor of the state.

“The defendants in the case are Robert and Bella Kocharyan, Sedrak Kocharyan and Zaruhi Badalyan, Levon and Siranush Kocharyan, Gayane Kocharyan and Vigen Chatinyan,” Vardapetyan noted in parliament on Monday, voicing the demands specified in the lawsuit of the Prosecutor General’s Office for the confiscation of property of illegal origin from Kocharyan and persons affiliated with him.

According to her, the prosecutor's office demands the seizure in favor of the Republic of Armenia of 22 real estate properties, the rights to purchase 2 properties, more than $3 million, 8.3 billion drams, 260 million rubles and about 590 thousand euros, bonds worth 985 million drams, bank deposits worth more than $1.4 million, participation in 15 legal entities (including Nairi Insurance, Toyota Yerevan, Target Group and other companies), rights to claim loans worth $4 million, 2 vehicles, other property acquired for an amount equivalent to more than 3.8 billion drams and more than 20 billion drams.

Vardapetyan noted that this claim against Robert Kocharyan and persons affiliated with him is under consideration by the court.
