YEREVAN, November 24. /ARKA/. The Eastern Partnership Summit is not a platform for discussion of Armenia's relations with Azerbaijan, Armenian president Serzh Sargsyan said today in Brussels.
"I do not think that the Eastern Partnership Summit is the place where we should discuss our relations with Azerbaijan. The OSCE Minsk Group, engaged in the Karabakh problem, enjoys the full support of the European Union, which completely suits us," the president said in an interview with Radio Liberty.
Armenia and the European Union are expected to sign today the Comprehensive and Enhanced Partnership Agreement , which the parties initialed on March 21, 2017.
In a comment on a possible veto of the final declaration of the summit by Yerevan because of "complicated formulations" put forward by Azerbaijan, the Armenian leader stressed that Armenia does not intend to do so.
"Why should we block the adoption of the declaration. I think that the compromised version of the declaration will be adopted. Azerbaijan can promote complex language, but who will accept them?" Sargsyan said.
The agreement will enter into force after all 28 EU member states and Armenia ratify it. -0-
