Several dozens of Customs Union opponents protest outside presidential house in Armenia

About 40-50 people, including the leader of the National Self-Determination Union party Paruyr Hayrikyan are currently holding a protest outside the presidential palace in Yerevan and demand to cancel the decision about Armenia’s accession to the Russia-led Customs Union.
YEREVAN, November 26. /ARKA/. About 40-50 people, including the leader of the National Self-Determination Union party Paruyr Hayrikyan are currently holding a protest outside the presidential palace in Yerevan and demand to cancel the decision about Armenia’s accession to the Russia-led Customs Union.
The protesters are holding banners saying “Vilnius or resignation”, “No to Customs Union”, “No to Russian Empire”.
The protests are held in a peaceful atmosphere; no clashes with the police are reported, according to Novosti-Armenia.
After the negotiations between Armenian and Russian presidents Serzh Sargsyan and Vladimir Putin on September 3 ajoit statement was made saying Armenia intends to join the Customs Unioin and take part in formation of the Eurasian Economic Union.
Before, Armenia was expected to sign an EU association agreement in Vilnius on November 28. –0--
