Snap parliamentary elections in Armenia running in due course

Polling stations all over Armenia opened today at 8:00 AM local time for early parliamentary elections, said Tigran Mukuchyan, the head of the Central Electoral Commission.

YEREVAN, December 9. /ARKA/. Polling stations all over Armenia opened today at 8:00 AM local time for early parliamentary elections, said Tigran Mukuchyan, the head of the Central Electoral Commission.
He said that turnout information will be released one in every three hours, and after the midnight information will be released in tables.
Mukuchyan said there are 2,592,486 people eligible to vote in Armenia.
Nine political parties and two blocs are racing for seats in the National Assembly. In total, 1,444 candidates are included in their party lists, and 12 of them are representatives of ethnic minorities.
There are 2,010 polling stations in the country, he said, of which 12 are in penitentiary facilities.
As many as 505 representatives from eight international organizations are present here to observe the election.
Also 17,813 local observers from 22 nongovernmental organizations are involved in the process.
Some 1,200 reporters from 70 local media sources and 80 journalists from 31 foreign media outlets are accredited for covering the election process.
