Stability and peace in the region are possible only through dialogue and reconciliation between Ankara and Yerevan, Polish ambassador to Armenia Zdzislaw Raczynski, said to Armenian reporters today after visiting the Armenian Genocide Memorial in Yerevan to remember 1.5 million Armenians killed by the government of Ottoman Turkey in World War One.

YEREVAN, April 24. / ARKA /. Stability and peace in the region are possible only through dialogue and reconciliation between Ankara and Yerevan, Polish ambassador to Armenia Zdzislaw Raczynski, said to Armenian reporters today after visiting the Armenian Genocide Memorial in Yerevan to remember 1.5 million Armenians killed by the government of Ottoman Turkey in World War One.
"We appreciate the initiative of Armenia’s president Serzh Sargsyan to start a dialogue with Turkey. He displayed political foresight and courage. The dialogue was halted, but we are deeply convinced that its revival is only a matter of time," said Raczynski.
In 2009 October Armenia and Turkey signed in Zurich two protocols on the establishment of diplomatic relations and normalization of bilateral relations, which were later to be ratified by the parliaments of the two countries. However, in 2010 April Serzh Sargsyan ordered to suspend the process of ratification on grounds that Turkey was not ready to continue the normalization process.
The diplomat reminded that Poland is one of the countries that recognized the Armenian genocide.
The 1915 Armenian Genocide is recognized by many states. The first was Uruguay in 1965. Other nations are Russia , France, Italy , Germany, Holland , Belgium, Poland , Lithuania, Slovakia, Sweden , Switzerland , Greece, Cyprus , Lebanon , Canada , Venezuela , Argentina , 42 states in the U.S. the Armenian genocide is also recognized by the Vatican , the European Parliament and the World Council of Churches. -0 –
