YEREVAN, March 4. /ARKA/. The government staff reshuffling that may occur after the February 18 presidential election in Armenia will have no major effect on the posts held by coalition Orinats Yerkir party, member of Orinats Yerkir parliament faction Hovhannes Margaryan told journalists Monday.
Currently the party holds three posts in the government – minister of emergencies (Armen Yeritsyan), ministry of agriculture (Sergo Karapetyan) and ministry of urban planning (Samvel Tadevosyan).
“I don’t know how the portfolios will be distributed but I think, there will be no serious changes in respect to Orintas Yerkir”, Margaryan said.
The member of parliament stressed that Orinats Yerkir backs the staff changes in the government and supports the reforms promised by the president.
“There are many tired persons who are currently in a political stagnation. They should be replaced”, the deputy said, not mentioning who exactly is tired through.
Earlier, speaker of Armenia’s parliament Hovik Abrahamyan said that the ruling republican party intends to start staff reshuffling within a month after the presidential inauguration of April 9.
Under the constitutional provisions, the president is to accept the government’s resignation on the inauguration day (50 days after the election). The president appoints a new premier enjoying the majority confidence in the parliament within 10 days after accepting the resignation. And finally, the government is formed within 20 days after the appointment of the premier. -0-
