Stepanakert and Yerevan to deepen cooperation

A delegation of Yerevan city administration led by Mayor Taron Margaryan was on an official visit to Nagorno-Karabakh last week, ARKA correspondent reports from Stepanakert.

YEREVAN, March 18. / ARKA /. A delegation of Yerevan city administration led by Mayor Taron Margaryan was on an official visit to Nagorno-Karabakh last week, ARKA correspondent reports from Stepanakert.
In Stepanakert, the capital of Nagorno-Karabakh, Yerevan mayor had a meeting with his counterpart Suren Grigoryan to discuss their future cooperation programs envisaged by an agreement signed in September 2012.
"Today, Stepanakert is cooperating with several cities, but for the first time it has recorded progress in the management of urban economy as a result of cooperation with Yerevan municipality," Grigoryan said.
The mayor of Yerevan said Yerevan municipality is always ready to share its experience with Stepanakert and assist it in implementing new programs.
"Stepanakert is not only our sister-city, it is also a deer family home, which means a responsive and targeted bilateral cooperation. Our cooperation is really good, but we should not be satisfied with it. We should expand and deepen relations with Stepanakert," Margaryan said.
At the meeting, the two mayors discussed practical steps towards joint projects in health, education, urban development, sports and tourism. Both sides agreed to organize the next meeting in Yerevan.
During the official visit, the Yerevan municipality delegation was received by Nagorno-Karabakh president Bako Sahakyan. The Yerevan municipality presented as a gift two garbage collecting trucks to the city of Shushi, public park benches and garbage tanks. -0-
