YEREVAN, March 9. /ARKA/. According to the latest report by the independent Swedish Varieties of Democracy (V-Dem) Institute, Armenia is the most democratic nation in the South Caucasus. V-Dem produces the largest global dataset on democracy with over 30 million data points for 202 countries.

The study notes that over the past 10 years, Armenia has improved its performance and moved from the category of countries with electoral autocracy to the list of countries with electoral democracy. Besides Armenia, only Bolivia has managed to make such a transit.

At the same time, Armenia, along with Georgia and Uzbekistan, are included in the list of advanced countries in terms of democracy in the regions of Eastern Europe and Central Asia.

The report says that in Armenia, Malaysia, and Seychelles there was significant improvement in autonomy of electoral management bodies in the last 10 years.

The generalized results of the study indicate that according to the index of liberal democracy, Armenia ranks 54th out of 179. At the same time, according to the index of electoral democracy, the country ranks 47th. Georgia ranks 62nd and 61st respectively, while the third South Caucasian country Azerbaijan ranks 162nd and 153rd respectively, -0-
