YEREVAN, October 16. /ARKA/. Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan provided his insights regarding the recent remarks made by the president of Azerbaijan concerning the so-called 'Zangezur Corridor' and the necessity to 'amend the Armenian Constitution.'
"Azerbaijan and Armenia have formalized the TRIPP project on Armenian territory. In addition to the 'Crossroads of Peace' and TRIPP, there are no other projects on our territory, nor can there be. We must base our discussions on written documents rather than verbal assertions," Pashinyan stated during a briefing on Thursday.
He expressed his contentment with the ongoing periodic communications with Aliyev that have persisted since the signing of the Washington Declaration on August 8.
"Peace has been established between Armenia and Azerbaijan. This is a reality that cannot be overlooked," Pashinyan remarked.
Concerning the Constitution, he noted that the position of the Armenian side remains unchanged. "This matter has been addressed in the initialed Armenian-Azerbaijani peace treaty. The constitutional issue is not an external matter, but rather a domestic agenda for us," Pashinyan explained.
Previously, Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan indicated that Armenia does not accept Azerbaijan's precondition for amending the RA Constitution.
Azerbaijan is insisting on amendments to the Armenian Constitution and the dissolution of the OSCE Minsk Group as prerequisites for signing a peace treaty (regarding the OSCE Minsk Group, a decision has already been made to dissolve it).
Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has consistently highlighted that the Armenian Constitution does not make any territorial claims against Azerbaijan or any other nation, whereas the Azerbaijani Constitution does include territorial claims against Armenia.-0-
