Armenia’s president Serzh Sargsyan and Russian foreign minister Sergey Lavrov reconfirmed today the two countries’ allied relations during a meeting in Yerevan, Sargsyan’s press service reports.

YEREVAN, April 3. /ARKA/. Armenia’s president Serzh Sargsyan and Russian foreign minister Sergey Lavrov reconfirmed today the two countries’ allied relations during a meeting in Yerevan, Sargsyan’s press service reports.

"The parties stated that the political dialogue between Armenia and Russia, as well as dynamically developing cooperation in trade, economic, military, military-technical and humanitarian spheres and in the framework of international organizations indicate the strong allied relations and strategic partnership between the two friendly peoples and states," the press service said. 

The two men were quoted as saying that these relationships are getting stronger from year to year due to periodic meetings of the presidents of both countries. Sargsyan and Lavrov congratulated each other on the 20th anniversary of establishing diplomatic relations between Armenia and Russia.

Lavrov recalled that this year the two countries will mark also the 15th anniversary of the Friendship, Cooperation and Mutual Assistance agreement between Russia and Armenia.  Russian Foreign Minister arrived in Yerevan on Monday on a two-day official visit. -0-
