Armenian science ministry, National Academy of sciences unveil science development project
YEREVAN, September 16. /ARKA/. Armenian Education and Science Ministry and National Academy of Sciences unveiled their science development project on Wednesday.
Samvel Harutyunyan, chairman of the ministry’s science committee, said the project would be submitted to the cabinet ministers in the fourth quarter.
“This project is the result of seven-month work. Leading scientists as well as representatives of ministries and other state institutions were involved in the work”, he said.
Harutyunyan said that discussions have been held and experience of developed and developing countries has been considered.
Presenting the project, the head of the committee said that the key aim of the project is to develop Armenia into a leading researcher and a country with science intensive economy.
“Key aims of the strategy are to form a system ensuring sustainable development of science and advanced technologies, to update equipment and infrastructures”, Harutyunyan said.
The strategy is also aimed at increasing the number of young specialists and stimulating international scientific cooperation.
The strategy puts special emphasis on Armenian science.-0---
