Armenian education minister’s visit to Georgia produces desirable results
YEREVAN, March 30. /ARKA/. On Wednesday, Armenian Education and Science Minister Armen Ashotyan, summarizing the results of his visit to Georgia, said that negotiations with his Georgian counterpart, Dmirty Shashkin, had produced desirable results.
In his words, an accord was reached on teaching Armenian language in Armenian schools in Georgia.
It was decided to restore the former extent of the teaching.
The thing is that hours of Armenian language lessons were cut the last year, but now Shashkin assured Ashotyan that Armenian would be taught 10 hours from September 1.
“My colleague and I display purely professional approach to the matter, trying to shield our area from political profiteering and contexts,” the Armenian minister said. “Our cooperation is effective and mutually beneficial.”
Ashotyan said that another problem was solved as well.
“Armenian community in Georgia has repeatedly complained about improper translation of manuals from Georgian to Armenian,” he said. “Now our translated versions of manuals will be given to Armenian specialists for approval.”-0---
