YEREVAN, October 3. /ARKA/. Places within the state order in pre- and post-educational colleges in 2012 will be increased by 50% in Armenia, said Armenian Education and Science Minister Armen Ashotyan to the journalists on Monday.
There will appear 7300 free seats within the state order instead of current 4 thousand. “It is three times more than our state order in the sphere of higher education”, said Ashotyan.
This number is already fixed in the state budget 2012. “We are doing everything for young people to choose professions having demand in the labor market which justify their desire and efforts for education”, he said.
The ratio of university students to college students was 3:1 for several years which must be changed, and the steps undertaken should be targeted at the change of this ratio.
In particular, within anti-corruption program, entry exams at colleges and schools, except narrow specialties, particularly in sport, art or culture were cancelled since 2011.
“From this year, the students can enter colleges and schools on the basis of average estimates of their school certificates taking into account certain professions”, said Ashotyan.
Ashotyan considers the spheres of information technologies, information science, as well as professions of barber and cook the most demanded. —0--
