Average unemployment rate in Armenia shed 1.2% in 2011, compared with 2010, to 6.2%, National Statistical Service of Armenia reports.
YEREVAN, January 31. /ARKA/. Average unemployment rate in Armenia shed 1.2% in 2011, compared with 2010, to 6.2%, National Statistical Service of Armenia reports.
According to the statistical report, there were 81,700 registered jobseekers in Armenia in late December 2011. Some 69,400 got unemployment status.
Of 1,194,700 economically active people, 1,120,800 had jobs.
Some 14,400 received unemployment benefits in 2011 against 19,000 in 2010.
The average size of the unemployment benefit is AMD 16,694. ($1 – AMD 386.81). -0--
