YEREVAN, May 26. /ARKA/. The activities of about 650 business entities in Armenia’s provinces have been temporarily suspended because of state of emergency rules violations discovered as a result of monitoring by the Inspectorate for Health and Labor.

According to the agency’s press service, the main violations relate, in particular, to employees not wearing personal protective equipment: masks and gloves, lack of disinfectants, insufficient disinfection of external surfaces, thermometers and temperature measurement registry, the presence of closed garbage bins (with pedal) for used masks and gloves, separate locker rooms for outerwear, etc.

It is noted that most of the calls and complaints received through the “hot line” concern shopping facilities, then service centers, pharmacies, beauty salons, etc. These signals and online complaints are taken into account during the monitoring.

The inspection body also monitors cases of repeated violations in the same economic entities - more serious sanctions will be applied to them than suspension of activity for 24 hours. Banks, production shops, hairdressers, industrial enterprises, service companies and enterprises from other sectors that do not comply with safety rules will be closed for a longer period of time in accordance with the order of the prime minister of Armenia.

“Observance of safety rules approved by the commandant of the Republic of Armenia in order to prevent the spread of the coronavirus is mandatory for all economic entities,” the inspection agency says.

Earlier, Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan announced toughening the punishment for economic entities in the service sector in case of non-compliance with safety rules. In the event of a repeated violation, the premier ordered not to be satisfied with the closure for 24 hours, but to close them for half a month or a month, and also to publish the names of the offending facilities so that people would not use their services for security reasons.

The state of emergency, introduced in Armenia on March 16, 2020 and extended to May 14, is again extended until 17:00 on June 13 inclusive.

As of 11:00 on Tuesday, May 26, there were 7,402 confirmed COVID-19 infection cases, 91 deaths and 3,220 recovered patients in Armenia. -0---
