Armenia mainly purchases modern weapons - Prime Minister

YEREVAN, January 31. /ARKA/. Today, Armenia primarily purchases modern weapons, said Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan at a press conference.

He noted that previously, a significant portion of weapons were transferred to the country free of charge, effectively as a gift. "Such weapons made up almost half of the entire arsenal of the Armenian Armed Forces. There was never a situation where we received something directly from the factory. And even if that did happen, although I did not conduct an audit, it was in much smaller quantities," Pashinyan stated during the press conference.

Earlier, Pashinyan mentioned that the country would not be able to purchase modern weapons if it continued to adhere to the discourse of Ararat and Aragats. According to him, Armenia would not be able to maintain a combat-ready army and would only be offered used, outdated weapons, as was the case before.
