Armenia reports 329 new cases of Covid-19

Armenian health authorities said today another five people have died from Covid-19 over the past 24 hours, bringing the total number of such deaths to 2,828 since last March 1, when the first case of coronavirus was detected in the country.
YEREVAN, January 1. /ARKA/. Armenian health authorities said today another five people have died from Covid-19 over the past 24 hours, bringing the total number of such deaths to 2,828 since last March 1, when the first case of coronavirus was detected in the country.
So far, Armenia has 159,738 confirmed cases of coronavirus, including the latest 329 cases, the ministry of health said in a Facebook post.
According to the ministry, 554 patients have recovered from the infection over the past 24 hours. Some 1,973 people were tested for coronavirus over this time span. The day before, one person infected with coronavirus died of other cause, it said. The total number of such cases stands now at 685.
Since March 1, 2020, a total of 595,876 coronavirus tests have been performed, 143,355 patients have recovered and another 12, 870 patients are being currently treated.
On September 11 the Armenian government decided to replace the state of emergency, declared on March 16 to stop the spread of coronavirus, with nationwide quarantine regime that will be in force until January 11, 2021. -0-
