Armenia sees 4.7% increase in employment by June 2024, reaching over 760k workers

YEREVAN, September 3. /ARKA/. In June 2024, the number of formally employed individuals in Armenia reached 760.2 thousand, an increase of 34.3 thousand (or 4.7%) compared to June 2023, the Armenian Economy Ministry reported on Friday.
The report highlighted the leading sectors in terms of employment levels:

Wholesale and retail trade: 129.4 thousand workers

Education: 121.9 thousand workers

Manufacturing: 89.8 thousand workers

Healthcare and social services: 52.1 thousand workers

Information and communication: 44.9 thousand workers

Accommodation and food services: 41.2 thousand workers
The report also noted that, compared to June 2023, there was an increase in employment across almost all sectors of the economy.
