The Central Election Commission of Armenia has summed up the results of the elections to the Council of Elders of Gyumri and Parakar held on March 30, the press service of the department reported.

YEREVAN, April 7. /ARKA/. The Armenian Central Election Commission summarized the results of the March 30 elections to the Council of Elders of Gyumri and Parakar, the agency's press service reported.

Gyumri

In Gyumri, 47,434 out of 111,236 citizens registered in the voter register participated in voting at 82 polling stations. 607 ballots were recognized invalid.

The votes were distributed as follows:

Civil Contract party - 17,188 votes (14 mandates)

Communist Party of Armenia - 9,727 votes (8 mandates)

Our City bloc - 7,380 votes (6 mandates)

My Mighty Motherland party - 3,739 votes (3 mandates)

Mother Armenia bloc - 2,904 votes (2 mandates)

Country for Life Party - 1,695 votes (0 mandates)

Labor Socialist Party of Armenia - 652 votes (0 mandates)

Euroalliance’ Bloc - 2,113 votes (0 mandates)

Democratic Alternative” Party - 1,407 votes (0 mandates).

The day after the elections, the opposition Mother Armenia bloc and My Mighty Motherland party announced their support to the Communist Party headed by Vardan Ghukasyan. A few days later, the head of Our City alliance Martun Grigoryan said that the alliance will give the necessary number of votes to Gyumri mayoral candidate Vardan Ghukasyan to have majority.

Parakar

In Parakar, out of 20,967 citizens on the voter register, 11,528 people participated in voting at 16 polling stations. Twenty-three ballots were invalidated.

The votes were distributed as follows:

Unity Bloc - 6,508 votes (12 mandates)

Civil Contract Party - 3,669 votes (7 mandates)

National Progress Party - 900 votes (3 mandates)

Stability Party - 426 votes (0 mandates). -0-
