Armenian army major sold secret information to foreign intelligence services for $19,700 - NSS

YEREVAN, November 29. /ARKA/. Armenia's National Security Service (NSS) has disclosed a new case of high treason.
According to NSS press service, an Armenian military with the rank of major was recruited by foreign secret services in July 2021 and signed an agreement on cooperation.
Being the chief of a department at a military unit the citizen collected from February until November 2022 military information, which was state and official secret and transmitted it via mobile applications to the representative of foreign secret service in return for $19,700.
Thus, he committed high treason, causing damage to the territorial integrity and security of Armenia, the NSS said. The officer was charged with treason and put under arrest by a court decision. -0-
