YEREVAN, April 17. /ARKA/. Armenian Ambassador to Russia Vardan Toganyan had another video talk Armenian citizens stranded at the Domodedovo airport in Moscow , the Armenian Foreign Ministry reported.
It said the citizens refused an offer to move to hotels, preferring to stay at the airport. Citizens also refused the food, the embassy was to provide to them.
There are currently 135 Armenian citizens at the airport. The Foreign Ministry said no flight to Armenia is planned for the near future. If a flight is to be organized, all the citizens will be informed about it.
The day before, the Armenian Embassy in Russia called on the Armenian citizens at the airport to leave its territory. The airport management told the embassy that crowds of people were creating problems on its territory violating the rules of the quarantine regime imposed in Moscow and the Moscow region.
In order to prevent the spread of coronavirus, Russia on March 27 stopped regular and charter flights to other countries. This has created extraordinary difficulties for about 2 thousand Armenian citizens in Russia who appeared to be unable either to return to Armenia or stay in Russia.
On April 6 and 7, more than 400 citizens were evacuated from Russia by two charter flights to Armenia; another 230 were brought home by the third charter flight. --0--
