YEREVAN, May 6. /ARKA/. The Armenian government will allocate additional 2.9 billion drams for the construction of 15 modular schools and 10 kindergartens, the acting Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sports Vahram Dumanyan said today.

According to him, schools will be built in communities with a small number of children in all regions of the country. He added that 10 modular kindergartens will accommodate 1,440 children.

Acting Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan noted that this program started last year, but was suspended due to the war.

“The quality of education in rural schools should not differ much from that in the capital. At the same time, the process of attestation of teachers, the development of distance learning and the strengthening of financial incentives for school teachers are underway,” Pashinyan said.

He also noted that the government finances the construction of kindergartens, while the local communities are obliged to ensure their functioning and funding. ($1 - 521.04 drams) -0-
