Armenian ministry of defense asks for tripling monthly contributions to military insurance fund

Armenia's Ministry of Defense has drafted a bill that calls for tripling the amount of mandatory contribution by all workers to the Military Insurance Fund. The bill proposes that the 1000 drams (about $2) monthly contribution be increased to 3 thousand.
YEREVAN, November 6. /ARKA/. Armenia's Ministry of Defense has drafted a bill that calls for tripling the amount of mandatory contribution by all workers to the Military Insurance Fund. The bill proposes that the 1000 drams (about $2) monthly contribution be increased to 3 thousand.
As a result, the annual amount of payments to the Fund by an employee will rise from current 12 thousand drams to 36 thousand drams. If adopted by the parliament, the bill will come into force on January 1, 2021.
Thanks to the 1000 drams monthly donations made by every working Armenian citizen the Fund has collected 30 billion drams (about $60 million), which will be fully allocated to the families of servicemen who died or became disabled in this war.
The Director of the Military Insurance Fund Varuzhan Avetikyan reported on October 21 that the Fund launched a new initiative "Let's make one two' to increase contributions in favor of the families of the dead, missing, and 1st and 2nd degree disabilities. Within the framework of this initiative, each economic entity or entrepreneur operating in Armenia gets the opportunity to double the monthly 1000 drams paid by employees (about $2).
Compensation will also be provided to the families of the missing servicemen. According to Avetikyan, the family of each serviceman is provided from 58 million drams to 82 million drams (from $120 thousand to $160 thousand).
To make donations, one can go to the 1000plus.am website, enter your card details, transfer the amount in the desired currency on a monthly basis or as a single donation. -0-
