YEREVAN, January 10. /ARKA/. Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan visited today the headquarters of the Defense Ministry to take part in the discussion of problems in the Armed Forces and elimination of non-statutory relations.

In this context, Pashinyan g emphasized the necessity of constant and consistent implementation of measures aimed at raising the discipline in the armed forces.

According to the government press service, Defense Minister Suren Papikyan and his deputies reported on the work done and priorities, also touching upon the reforms implemented.

In particular, they spoke about what has been done to equip engineering and fortification structures, build barracks, replenish the army with the latest weapons and military equipment, strengthen the combat capability and discipline.

Also discussed were the process of certification of servicemen, which started at the beginning of the year, the organization of conscription of women aged 18-27,.

On Tuesday, two officers of the Armed Forces were found dead at their combat posts. According to the Defense Ministry, contract serviceman Karen Karapetyan was fatally wounded with a machine gun. An enlisted serviceman was detained on suspicion of murder.

On the same day, the body of Senior Lieutenant Mikayel Danielyan with a gunshot wound was found at the firing position. Criminal cases are underway to clarify the details of both incidents. --0--
