Armenian school students win medals at international Olympiad in Vietnam

Armenian school students have won three bronze medals at an international biology Olympiad in Hanoi, Vietnam, the press office of the Armenian education ministry reported on Monday.
YEREVAN, July 25. /ARKA/. Armenian school students have won three bronze medals at an international biology Olympiad in Hanoi, Vietnam, the press office of the Armenian education ministry reported on Monday.
The are Alexander Karalyan, a student at Quant College, Hayk Harutyunyan, from Shahinyan Physics and Mathematics School, and Tigran Aghabekyan, from Ayb High School.
In the team event, Singapore was first – its team picked up four golden medals. Russia’s team won one golden and one bronze medals, Iranian team took one silver and three bronze medals and Azerbaijan got one honorary certificate.
Georgia and Turkey’s teams remained without awards.
The Olympiad lasted from July 17 to 24.
Armenia was represented by 15 participants (three teams) in mathematics, physics and biology contests.
They picked up 12 medals – one golden, three silver, eight bronze medals and one honorable certificate. --0----
