Armenian SRC and NSS thwart gold items smuggling attempt

The Armenian State Revenue Committee (SRC) said the officers of its anti-smuggling department together with the National Security Service (NSS) officers prevented an attempt to smuggle gold items into the country.
YEREVAN, August 13. /ARKA/. The Armenian State Revenue Committee (SRC) said the officers of its anti-smuggling department together with the National Security Service (NSS) officers prevented an attempt to smuggle gold items into the country.
It said the smuggled gold items were discovered in the car of an Armenian citizen, when it was halted on the Ijevan-Noyemberyan interstate highway. According to the SRC, two passengers had gold items weighing 1,572 grams smuggled into the country.
It said an investigation was launched into the smuggling attempt and the gold items were seized and handed to the customs control zone for storage. -0-
