YEREVAN, June 28, /ARKA/. An extraordinary session of the Armenian National Assembly approved today unanimously in the first reading a bill to amend the law on state registration of property rights and a number of related draft laws that call for State Real Estate Cadastre Committee to switch to the online mode of operation.
According to the head of the State Real Estate Cadastre Committee Sarkhat Petrosyan, now citizens can send requests to the cadastre via the electronic system and get answers, but to get an official document one needs to visit a branch of the Committee.
According to the proposed changes, almost all documents will be drafted and approved in electronic format. The changes also eliminate the need of having documents stamped, since the authenticity of the document can be verified through the electronic platform.
“As a result, the number of actions required to obtain documents and time spent by citizens on this process will be reduced. This will simultaneously eliminate the possibility of forging documents because such an activity will lose its meaning: a paper certificate will not represent any value by itself,” Petrosyan said.
At the same time, in some cases, for example, when buying a property or selling it, citizens still will need to visit the cadastre office.
In addition to the above changes, parliamentarians were asked to rename the structure to the Cadastre Committee. -0-
