Deadline for Income Declaration Submission in Armenia Extended by Six Months

YEREVAN, April 22. /ARKA/. The National Assembly of Armenia approved a bill on Tuesday that extends the deadline for individuals to submit their income declarations to November 1. Previously, these declarations were due by May 1 for the preceding year.

Babken Tunyan, deputy head of the parliamentary Standing Committee on Economic Affairs, mentioned that additional amendments are forthcoming.

“In the future, we aim to clarify contentious points, simplify regulations, and introduce specific solutions aimed at pensioners,” he stated during the session.

Furthermore, Tunyan noted that moving forward, the submission period for income declarations will be adjusted to fall between March 2 and July 1.

In contrast, Artsvik Minasyan, secretary of the opposition Armenia faction, expressed dissent regarding the bill.

“We will abstain from voting due to the bill’s insufficient elaboration, and the system's unpreparedness, which will likely lead to several issues come November,” he commented.

Currently, around 35,000 individuals have completed their income declarations in Armenia.
