Education minister: world culture to be taught in Armenian schools
YEREVAN, July 4. /ARKA/. The history of world culture will be taught in Armenian schools, Education and Science Minister Armen Ashotyan said on Wednesday.

Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan, responding to the education minister’s proposal, ordered the establishment of two groups for introducing two subjects – the history of world culture and national songs and dances – in the country’s schools.

The groups will be made up of education and culture ministries’ specialists.

National songs and dances will be taught in schools as part of the government’s new program approved by the National Assembly on June 21.

These classes will strengthen the national element in the country’s education system and implant love for own culture and history in schoolchildren.

Ashotyan said that introduction of the new subjects will last about three years.

He said that the best specialists will be attracted to the teaching process. -0--
