EEU member countries to deepen cooperation on climate issues

The prime ministers of several former Soviet republics making the Russia-led Eurasian Economic Union (EEU) have agreed to deepen cooperation on climate issues, Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin was quoted as saying by TASS news agency.

YEREVAN, August 20. /ARKA/. The prime ministers of several former Soviet republics making the Russia-led Eurasian Economic Union (EEU) have agreed to deepen cooperation on climate issues, Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin was quoted as saying by TASS news agency.

"It is very important that all the challenges we face today are not just discussed, but an EEU strategy for further promoting the climate agenda is developed," he said during a meeting of the EEU heads of governments with the President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Zhaparov in the Kyrgyz town of f Cholpon-Ata..

Earlier on August 19 the prime ministers of the Russian Federation, Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan, had a meeting in the narrow format.

Mishustin also said that the agenda of today’s meeting of the intergovernmental council includes issues on unilateral non-tariff measures, insurance support for trade, and free movement of organic agricultural products. -0-
