YEREVAN, February 26. /ARKA/. Demand for eggs is rising ahead of the Easter (March 31), so are the egg prices, Zhoghovurd (People) newspaper says.
A monitoring group of the country’s State Commission for Economic Competition recorded some price changes in the egg market a few days ago, according to the newspaper.
For instance, a box of 10 eggs from Lusakert poultry farm costs now 680 drams instead of the previous 660 drams. Eggs produced by Arzni poultry are sold at 66 drams each, compared to 64 drams before. A 30psc tray of eggs from Yerevan poultry farm costs 1,920 drams instead of the previous 1,860drams.
Earlier, the antimonopoly commission requested manufacturers to submit information on production output, sales, stock in trade and selling price on daily basis.
The commission also intends to demand justification for price changes from the producers. ($1=408.16drams). -0-
