Electric buses, depot repairs and a new forest park: a $200 million investment program is being implemented in Yerevan

YEREVAN, March 31. /ARKA/. A $200 million public investment program planned for implementation in Yerevan was discussed at a working meeting at City Hall on Monday.
Anetta Babayan, advisor to the city's mayor, presented the key points of the program. These include the purchase of up to 250 new 18-meter-long electric buses, the reconstruction and modernization of two depots, the creation of a 230-hectare forest park through the transformation of Dalma Gardens, as well as the pilot reconstruction of one of the city’s highways as a dedicated transport route with its own infrastructure.
She emphasized that the program contains a significant concession component.
“It is also planned to attract funding from the UN Global Climate Fund for Armenia... Currently, within the framework of the Asian Development Bank (ADB) program, a competition has been announced to hire a consultant for the program’s implementation. The deadline expired on March 25, and we are now awaiting the results. The further progress of the program will depend on the decision made by the Investment Committee,” Babayan said.
The advisor also highlighted that the public investment program was developed in line with government regulations. “Just today, the relevant certificate was officially handed over to the mayor for further submission to the government,” Babayan added.
