Epidemic situation in Armenia, amid a large inflow of tourists, particularly due to the VI Pan-Armenian Games, is under control, head of the state inspectorate on healthcare Artak Sahakyan said on Wednesday.

YEREVAN, August 6. /ARKA/. Epidemic situation in Armenia, amid a large inflow of tourists, particularly due to the VI Pan-Armenian Games, is under control, head of the state inspectorate on healthcare Artak Sahakyan said on Wednesday.
Strict control is maintained across the country, he said.
Risks are high for spread of various diseases in summer time in general, the head of inspectorate said.
Check points are set at the border, and experts are permanently making checkups. Any of tourists feeling sick is immediately examined, Sahakyan said, as cited by Novosti-Armenia.
Earlier, the press office of the Armenian ministry of health said an extra medical emergency service will be on duty for sportsmen in Yerevan and across the country.
Over 6,000 Armenian sportsmen from 175 cities from all over world are participating in the VI Pan-Armenian Games and will compete in 17 different sports (by seven more than in the previous Games), including football, basketball, volleyball, futsal, tennis, table tennis, chess, badminton, swimming, track and field athletics.
Competitions will be held not only in Yerevan, but also in other cities of Armenia and Artsakh (Armenian name of Karabakh). –0—
