Ex-president Serzh Sargsyan's nephew admits to all charges leveled against him

Narek Sargsyan, the nephew of ex-president of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan, has admitted to all the charges leveled against him during a court hearing of his case.
YEREVAN, December 1. /ARKA/. Narek Sargsyan, the nephew of ex-president of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan has admitted to all the charges leveled against him during a court hearing of his case.
His defense lawyers asked the judge for an expedited judicial investigation, given that Sargsyan admitted to the charges. Consideration of the lawyers' petition and the case was postponed until December 24 due to the absence of the injured party.
Narek Sargsyan was detained in the Czech capital in 2018 December with the assistance of Interpol and was extradited to Armenia on December 21, 2019. He had been wanted in Armenia on various criminal charges.
According to the Czech police, he introduced himself by the name of Franklin Gonzales and produced a fake Guatemalan passport.
The criminal case against Narek Sargsyan was launched on June 26, 2018 by the National Security Service of Armenia. He is accused of illegal acquisition, sale, storage, transportation and carrying of weapons, ammunition, explosives, as well as of illegal trafficking, manufacture and sale of drugs, psychotropic substances and their precursors.
On July 6, 2018 Sargsyan was put on the Armenian wanted list, and on July 24 - on the international wanted list. In early June 2019, reports form Prague said the Prague City Court allowed his extradition to Armenia.
On December 24, 2019, a court in Yerevan ruled to allow Sargsyan's arrest. On November 13, 2020, he was released on bail of 25 million drams.
A suspect or accused of an alleged crime is presumed innocent until proven guilty according to a court verdict that enters into legal force in the manner established by the Code of Criminal Procedure of Armenia. --0--
